Jann Tackett brought the meeting to order at 7:08pm. Present were: Jann T., Kassie Jorgensen, Heidi Lowthrop, Jeff Norton, Gregg Cruickshank, and Kirk Hughes.
Joyce Gorham arrived at 7:40pm.
It was moved by Heidi L. and seconded by Jeff N. to accept the agenda. Motion passed.
Kirk H. read minutes of the last meeting. There was a correction to say “We have filed a 990 form for tax purposes.”
It was moved by Jeff N. and seconded by Heidi L. to approve the minutes. Motion passed.
Correspondence:
1. A thank you note from Dave McGargill and family and Kirk Hughes.(for Kirk’s sister’s memorial)
2. A letter from the Iowa Dept. of Economic Development was sent to Jeff N. They want a report on our progress on the BB/SB Field. Jeff N. will take care of this.
1. An all-purpose sign from Gene Kirk was purchased and the bill will be here this week. It will be $165-$170. It was moved by Kirk H. and seconded by Heidi L. to pay the bill when it the sign arrived.
1. A balance sheet was handed out.
2. Kassie J. finalized the Note of $33,000. We will need to make a payment of $8,332.17 every July 1 until 2012.
3. A pledge status sheet was handed out.
It was moved by Kirk H. and seconded by Gregg C. to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Motion passed.
1. SAF, Inc. sign will be delivered the week of September 24th from Gene Kirk.
2. Tree Planting- Gregg C. will continue to work with the school board on this.
3. Ball Field Shelter- Susan H. was absent and we will talk with her next meeting.
4. Homecoming Plans/Hall of Fame Plans- Next year we will work with the Hall of Fame group to have a gathering together. This year Hall of Fame is having a reception at Whip’s and SAF, Inc. is having a gathering at the Legion. Kassie J. will order some food from Sidney Foods and members will bring chips or baked goods. Kirk H. will find someone to walk with SAF, Inc. sign for the parade.
5. Brick Project- Susan H. was absent. Joyce G. said she would talk with Susan H. about it.
1. Fall Newsletter- Wait until after Homecoming then we can have some items to put in it. We might also have more names and address to send to because of the gathering at the Legion. We will have people sign in there. Maybe send out first week of November.
2. Honored Classes for 2008 Picture Display In Commons- We need to take out old classes and put new ones in. Jann, Gregg, Kassie, Joyce, & Jeff will try to do this on October 6, 2007 at 10:00am.
Next meeting will be October 22, 2007 at 7:00pm.
Heidi L. moved to adjourn and Joyce G. seconded it. Motion passed.
