The Danny Schnepp Memorial Fund is NOT A Scholarship, it is a low interest loan. Loan applications are due June 1, 2008. No interests while the student is in school full-time. Interest is then 5%. Repayment to start after graduation or when you leave school. See Mr. Hughes for loan application.
DeBruce Companies Scholarship Program is offering scholarships for students planning on majoring in some form of agriculture, crop, or animal field. Deadline is early April, 2008. I would have it in by April 1, 2008 to be safe. See Mr. Hughes for application.
Eaton’s Scholarship worth $2,000 per year up to four years is being given and you must have taken the PSAT/NMSQT Exam to qualify. Deadline is January 31, 2008. You must have a parent working at Eaton’s to qualify. Ask your parent for details.
The Iowa/Nebraska Equipment Dealers Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship for students interested in Dealership Related Majors; Including parts related, ag sales, mechanic, etc. Deadline was not given. To apply call Bruce Keiman from Hamburg at 712-382-2744.
The Grace Birkby Nennemann and the Ernst Walter Nennemann Scholarships are being given this year. The amount varies from year to year. The Grace Birkby Nennemann is given to a female and the Ernst Walter Nennemann is given to a male from Sidney High School. Go to www.lcf.org to apply. Deadline is March 31st, 2008.
The All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship is being award this year by the Iowa College Aid Commission. Maximum award is $6,420. Must be attending an Iowa college or university, a GPA of 2.500 or higher, and complete the FAFSA. Deadline is May 1, 2008. Go to http://www.iowaonline.state.ia.us/csac/aios/aios.asp for application.
Project 21 about underage gambling has been in the announcements. Scholarship is the amounts of $2500, $500, and $1,000 are given. Must be a poster or essay. Deadline is April 11, 2008. Posters must have been displayed for at least a week. This is just a reminder.
The Board of Church & Society Essay Contest has been in the announcements. Three $500 winners. Deadline is April 15, 2008
The Iowa Section of Professional Golfers’ Association is offering the Charlie Burkart Scholarship. Scholarships are $1,000 for four years and are based on a student’s interest and activity in golf and the potential for future contributions to the game, then on their academic ability and financial need. Applications must be to the committee prior to June 20, 2008.
Iowa State University is offering the ACACIA Leadership Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 maximum. The criteria is based on students, who have exhibited exceptional ability in the fields of academics, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement. Financial need is not a criteria. Deadline is March 1, 2008. See Mr. Hughes for an application.
WOWT Channel 6 is offering two scholarships for seniors going into TV Broadcast Journalism, TV Broadcast Production, TV Broadcast Engineering, or TV Broadcast Marketing &/or Communications. The Iowa State University Chapter of The Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity is offering one $1,000 scholarship and two $250 scholarships to incoming freshmen males who show prominent leadership skills. The Iowa West Foundation will be awarding 25 scholarships to seniors in the amount of $5,000 per year renewable for up to four years. Must have an ACT score of 25 or higher. Must enroll in a four-year institution of higher learning in the United States. Must have filled out the FAFSA. Go to www.iowawestfoundation.org or see Mr. Hughes for an application. Students should go to the “What We Fund” area of the website. All materials (application, recommendations, and transcripts) are due in the Iowa West office on or before April 1, 2008.
