Scholarship List

November  2007 

1.      Northwest Missouri State University, Dept. of Accounting, Economics, and Finance is offering the Charles Hawkins Accounting Scholarship and the Karen Hawkins Memorial Accounting Scholarship.  Amount is $450 each.  Deadline is February 1, 2008.

2.      The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship is being offered worth $2,000 each.  Must demonstrate ambition & drive, determination, respect for self, family, & community.  Go to www.ax-achievement.com for applications.  Deadline is February 15, 2008.

3.      The Omaha Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals is offering several $1,000 scholarships to help seniors going into computing related fields.  Go to www.aitpomaha.org for applications.  Deadline is April 4, 2008.

4.      Iowa State University is offering the Christina Hixson Opportunity Award.  This is a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500 for four years) There will be one winner from each county in Iowa.  Sidney has had a number of students receive this award.  Apply online at www.dso.iastate.edu/hixson/application .  Deadline is   February 1, 2008.

5.      University Of Nebraska At Omaha is offering Music Scholarships in vocal, band, and other areas.  Auditions are required.  Deadline is March 1, 2008.  See Mr. Hughes.

6.      Wal-Mart is giving the Sam Walton Community Scholarship for $1,000.   May not be a Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club associate, or the child or legal dependent of a Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club associate.  Must be heavily involved in community service.  Go to www.walmartfoundation.org for details.  Deadline January 4, 2008.
