  1. Dana College is hosting Scholarship Days on December 9, 2007 and March 2, 2008.  Must have a GPA of 3.50 and ACT of 25 for Presidential & Academic All-American Scholarships.  They also have athletic and performing arts scholarships based on performance.  Register by calling 1800-444-DANA or www.dana.edu/admissions/scholarshipday.html

 

  1. The Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship is being offered to students attending the University of Iowa.  There are 85 scholarships of $400 available to students of the Protestant faith.  Must be of good character and have a good scholastic record.  See Mr. Hughes for an application.  Deadline is May 1, 2008.

 

  1. Midland Lutheran College has a number of scholarships for those with a GPA of 3.500, ACT of 25, & rank in top 20% of class.  On January 9, 2008 they hold an Anderson Leader Scholarship Day.  Register online by Friday, December 21, 2007.  Go to www.mlc.edu . 

They also have Scholarship Days on Sat. Feb. 2nd or Feb. 9th, 2008 for those with GPA of 3.00, ACT of 20, & top 50% of class.

 

  1. Principal Financial Group is offering the Principal IT Scholarship of $2,500 each year ($10,000).  Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, Computer Programming or related field.  Go to www.principal.com/careers/scholarships.htm  Deadline is March 18, 2008. 

 

  1. University of Northern Iowa is having a Theatre Scholarship Day on November 30, 2007.  How to sign up and what is required can be found at www.uni.edu/theatre .  

 

  1. The American Legion publishes a catalog filled with all kinds of scholarships, loans, and contests.  You may check the catalog out from Mr. Hughes for three days. 

 

  1. The McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship is being giving to a high school senior who has owned their own business for at least one year and at least one paid employee.  Up to $10,000 per year for four years.  Deadline is January 15, 2008.  Go to www.mckelveyfoundation.org  to apply. 

 

  1. The Iowa Broadcasters Association is offering the Quarton-McElroy Scholarship this year.  Must plan on attending an Iowa college/uni. and majoring in broadcasting.  Applications can be picked up from Mr. Hughes.  Deadline is April 1, 2008.

 

  1. Drake University Department of Physics and Astronomy is sponsoring a full-tuition scholarship to the best scores on an examination.  Deadline is December 7, 2007.  See Mr. Hughes if interested.

 

  1. The University of Northern Iowa is offering the College of Natural Science scholarships called the McaPS Scholarship.  Must be majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Earth Science, Mathematics, or Physics.  Upt to $7,000 for four years.  GPA of 3.00, ACT of 5 or higher, submit the FAFSA.  Deadline is February 1, 2008.  Also have $5,000 per year scholarships.  The deadline for the $5,000 is December 15, 2007. 

 

  1. Grinnell College is offering the Howard R. Bowen Scholarship.  This is an essay and interview.  $15,000 up to full tuition.  Deadline for applying to Grinnell is November 20, 2007 for this opportunity and December 1, 2007 for the scholarship.
