WOODMEN ORATION CONTEST

 

Local & District Level

Sixth grade students recently competed in the Woodmen Oration contest.  This year's topic was "Great American Landmarks."

Congratulations to Sloan Killion who will advance to the district level at AEA13 on April 8th.  She was one of 6 finalists who competed at the local level on March 26th.  Sloane's speech was on the Todd House in Tabor, a stop on the Underground Railroad.

Other finalists and their landmark topics for their speeches were RuthEllen Gregory (Mt. Rushmore), Tayler Holt (Statue of Liberty), Colton Krewson (Gettysburg), Jessica Lowthorp (Sixth Floor Museum), and Ben Wolfe (Gateway Arch).

 

State Level

Sloane Killion received first place at district competition and won the right to advance to the state level on May 6th.
