    Sidney Community School is a 140 square mile school district in the southwest corner of Iowa. It is one of four school districts in Fremont County.  The county is bordered by Missouri to the south and by Nebraska to the west.

 

    Sidney Community School district serves 410 students from Pre-kindergarten through Grade 12.

 

    The community of Sidney has a population of approximately 1,253 people.  Sidney is located in the historic Loess Hills about 15 miles east of Nebraska City and approximately 45 miles southeast of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.  It is famous for the Sidney Iowa Championship Rodeo (nominated PRCA Small Outdoor Rodeo of the Year for five consecutive years) held each summer in late July and early August.
